Weekend away (Picture heavy post)

This weekend we went to stay with family in St Albans. I have been there several times before, but I had never been to the market they have there every Saturday. When I'm on holiday one of the things I really like to do is to venture off to local markets to hunt down treasures and bargains. The market in St. Albans was quite good and it was actually bigger than I thought. They had a variety of things from food, jewelry, clothes, books, handbags and much more. Since I'm a big fan of Australian handbag designer David Jones, I automatically had a look when I saw his name mentioned. The handbags were really nice and I wanted all of them... I had to decide on one and I chose this mustard yellow one which I thought was very cute and very me. I love handbags and I have far too many according to my husband. I think this one will be very practical and nice to take with me on holiday. I bought a couple of other bits and bobs as well. A kit to make higher hair like quiffs and bouffants.. I like that style, but think it is difficult to get a proper bouffant with my hair, so hopefully it will help with some cheating.

In St.Albans they also have a speciality shop for Vintage clothes and of course I had to go in and have a look. They had little clothes in plus sizes, but some lovely accessoires. I couldn’t really afford anything, but I found this super cute bright pink bow with polka dots that I am going to attach a hair clip and a needle on so I can use it in my hair or as a statement acessoire with a black or dark coloured outfit.

On Sunday we took the lovely Gemma out for a long walk. She is a beautiful Welsh Springer Spaniel and we are best friends. I'm a little allergic to dogs, but as long as I take antihistamins before seeing her I am ok. We took her to this beautiful place in Bedfordshire called Wrest Park. It is a stunning place with gorgeous gardens and walks. We did not go in the mansion itself since we had Gemma with us, but the gardens were so lovely. Stunning views over a lake and there is a Chinese style bridge and Temple as well.

I went shopping as well, but didn't find anything that was tempting enough for me to spend money on so I just posed for some outfit photos instead. I was wearing this lovely New Look Inspire dress that I found for a bargain price of £5 on Ebay. I always trawl around ebay for bargains and things that they don't have in my size in the shops anymore. I temed the dress up with a black cardigan, black leggings as the weekend was absolutely freezing(!) and nude coloured shoes from Primark. AND my lovely handbag that I bought on holiday in January in Naples. It was a steal at £10 pounds and I am using it with everything. It is made in a lovely blue faux leather and has gold studs and zips at the front. Perfect size for cross body bag when you want your hands free.

Spending time with my lovely family was an absolute treat too. I have such an amazing family. Since I came into their lives over 4 and a half years ago they have been absolutely amazing. Everyone has been so welcoming and nice to me.

What do you like to do in your weekends?
