Every Little Girls Favourite Colour

On Thursday I bought a lovely bright pink cropped jumper at Tesco. I have a huge Tesco not far from me that has got a very big clothing section and they had a big sale on, so I had to have a look. And I found quite a few bits that came home with me and among them was this beauty. I love the colour!! It is so stunning. My favourite pink. The jumper is stretchy as I bought it in a size 18 and it still works. I love the fit! It's very delicate so I will have to be careful not to snag it. I have to wear a camisole under as it is too openly knit to wear without anything under. At least I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it without anything.
I posted a photo of myself by my desk and posted to Twitter and tagged F&F and they asked me how I styled the jumper and here is how.

I wore my lovely fake leather skater skirt from AxParis and my leggings from The Cut collection from Evans. Since the print on the leggings has pink in it I thought it would work with the jumper. I also wore metallic blue shoes from Evans that picks up the blue in my leggings and I think it works! Necklace from Primark and bangle from Evans.

I have never tried anything cropped since I was 14 and I never thought it would work on my huge bosom, but I think the cropped jumper works better than long jumpers.

What do you think? Does it work?

Black Elegance

I have never been used to wearing only black. I have always liked a bit of colour as I think black can very easily make you appear pale and washed out. I have quite a lot of black clothes, but I always wear other colours with it.

A few weeks back I was invited to an event in London hosted by Bloggers Love and the dress code was All Black City Chic so I decided to go for a more preppy look than I normally do. My thoughts were since I'm taking it out of my comfort zone with being all black I will try something a bit different with my style as well.

This is what I wore.

I wore a black dress from Ax Curve (old) with sweetheart neckline and laces, black tights, black shoes, a very stylish belt from Asos, buy it HERE and a gorgeous blazer from Taking Shape. I only have got two blazers in my wardrobe, but they don't get used often. I bought this black one for this event as I thought it would be a good staple in my wardrobe for any occasion. When I received it I was very curious how it would look and I was so pleasantly surprised. It looked so lovely on me. It nipped me in where it should if I had it buttoned up and it looked just as nice open. I love the faux leather details on the shoulder and around the pockets. It makes it stand out from a normal black blazer. You can buy it HERE for only £19!!

I got lots of compliments for my outfit which always is nice to get.

Part 2 of this post will come tomorrow with lots of fun photos from the event itself.

Mid Week Concerto

I'm in a hurry so just a little post from me right now. I will be writing more when I get back tonight, but in half an hour I am going to G Live here in Guildford and watch my hubbys favourite band The Stranglers. I like them too so I'm very much looking forward to it.It's their 40th anniversary tour and my hubby think it will be the last tour they are on. I have seen them once before, but tonight we are going to stand in front of the scene so that will be good. Last time was a bit boring as we were sitting there like two oldies in our 80s.

The Stranglers has been around since 1974 when they were known as The Guildford Stranglers so will be fun to see them here in Guildford where it all started.

Tonight I will be wearing my go to skirt when I go to concerts, from Ax Paris. I love this skirt and you have seen it on the blog several times. It is so versatile and I wear it all the time. Tonight I'm wearing it with a bit of sparkle as I'm wearing it with a sequin top from Dorothy Perkins. Can't go without wearing my lovely animal print boots from Simply Be. I can't wait for the concert to start and I'm sure I will post photos from it later tonight.

The Cardi That Always Makes Me Smile.

The last year or two I think that F&F at Tesco has had a lot of exciting pieces in their collections. I haven't ordered anything from True yet as I can fit into the normal size collections and very often I find more pieces in the normal size range that is more me.

Cardigans are something I've always loved! And F&F happens to be the place I always find the most fun patterns and I love cardigans that are a bit different.

Like this one.

Isn't it cute? It's very me with its read and pink lips. It makes me automatically happy to be wearing it. It's a cardi that cheers you up. It kind of has the same effect as red lipstick. It makes you shine and feel great. It has a bit of a vintage feel to it. This cardigan is really lovely. Nice material and it will be lovely to wear in the spring. Just what you need if it gets a bit nippy. The material has got a lot of stretch with is good for us with bigger busts. I'm wearing a size 20 and that is a good size for me. I like clothes that stands out a bit. I'm not the one to chose beige to say it like that. I like the colours and I like the prints. And this print is so cute and fun so if you like it you should hurry and get one.

I'm wearing
Cardi from Tesco (HERE)
T-shirt(it's a dress from clothes swap with Leah)
Skirt from Ax Paris (old)
Leggings from Sainsburys
Shoes from Marisota

You can still buy this cardigan HERE, but you got to be quick as they are low in stock in most sizes.

Do you like bold prints and colours?

Mixing fabrics.

My goal with starting this blog was to experiment more with clothes and step out of my comfort zone. That meant wearing things I normally wouldn't, mix things that I normally wouldn't mix and be more daring.

Something I like better and better doing is to mix textiles. Such as leather and wool, silk and cotton and even mixing similar textiles like double denim. Style is about expressing your personal style and break the "guidelines" that are set.

When I went to One One Three's fashion show I chose to wear a fake leather skirt with a sparkly top and a wool cardigan to make it a bit different, but still my style. I got lots of compliments for my top which is so lovely. It makes a boring outfit more exciting as it adds a bit of bling  to the outfit.

 Cardigan from New Look (old)
Top from Next (gift from my friend)
Belt from a market stall
Skirt from Ax Curve (old)
Tights from Primark
Boots from Evans (Sold out)

I really love this outfit and it made me feel really nice and comfy at the same time.

Do  you like mixing fabrics together?

Invasion of the Killer Curves at a rock gig.

Last weekend I went to nothing less than three concerts in three days to see the same band. It was so much fun and I wore three different outfits. Sorry for not having photos of all of them. I find great fun in dressing up for concerts and I don't like dressing like I normally do. I go a bit more rock girl look to concerts as I am a rock girl at heart. :)

For the concert on Sunday I chose to wear my lovely new limited edition Invasion of the Killer Curves t-shirt that Betty from Pamper and Curves had kindly brought down to Plus London 3. It is such a lovely t-shirt and I absolutely love the artwork.. so sexy and I felt like a true ambassador for the killer curve invasion;) It's Betty's husband that has designed the artwork and I can't express how much I love it. The t-shirt comes in a normal round neck style and a slashed neck version which is what I wore. I wore an XXL which fitted perfectly over my boobs and looked great all over. My husband loves this t-shirt so much that he will get one for himself on payday! You can get your own t-shirt HERE. It's £13 so a really good price for looking sexy and getting a very important message out there at the same time!!

And here is how it looked like.

I wore the t-shirt with my lovely faux leather skirt from AX Paris, Cardi from Primark, tights from Big Bloomers Company and boots from Dorothy Perkins.

Halloween!!

Showing the lion some affection in my drunken state of mind.

Mike after I have been smudging my lipstick all over him:)
Happy Halloween everyone. Since it's midweek we couldn't celebrate Halloween today so wet celebrated it last weekend instead. A group of us from work went out and as soon as we decided to go out dressed up I decided to be a devil. I have never dressed up fancy dress as a grown up and gone out so I was looking very much forward to it. I decided to try and do this make up I'd seen online and based on the pictures how do you guts think I did? I mean I don't think I have ever had this much make up on before but it was fun. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on an outfit I wouldn't wear again so I decided to wear something I already owned and make a top. I had recently bought a really cute faux leather skirt from AX Curve at New Look. This skirt is so lovely and flowy. I have tried other faux leather skirts before, but very often they come in a very thin cheap material that just feels and looks strange. This one however is very very nice. I might add that it has more of a rubber feel to it than leather, but for me it doesn't matter cause I love it. It is so flattering, the length is perfect and I know I will get so much use of this in the months to come. It can be worn with all kind of tops, mixing materials and for different occasions. I wore it when I dressed up as a devil last weekend, but I wore it today as well when I went to a gig.  The top I wore dressing up I made myself and is just a plain black t-shirt that i cut the neck off of and threaded with red ribbon for effect. Wore fishnet stockings from Ann Summers which I find so incredible. If I ever want to wear fishnet I always choose stay up stockings from Ann Summers as they are stretchy and very lasting. My jacket is so lovely... It's amazing and I will make a special post about it in a few days as it deserves so much more than just being mentioned. :)

Hope all of you had fun today. Did you dress up?
