Even The Horses In The New Forest......

Even The Horses In The New Forest......

A few weeks ago Mike and I went down to New Forest and I was wearing my favourite print, Polka Dots!!! I never ever get tired of it so when I saw this beautiful little black dress from TU at Sainsburys on sale for a bargain price of £6 I didn't think twice. I have three other black and white polka dot dresses, but I couldn't leave it behind. I'm glad I didn't as it is such a versatile gem of a dress. I wear it to the office a lot and it is perfect. I feel very nice and the length is great for work. Can wear it without leggings or tights which always is a plus for me in the warmer weather.

I like they little keyhole detail at the front of the dress. It gives a sneak peak to my cleavage without revealing too much I'm wearing with 3/4 length leggings from TU too. Shoes are from F&F at Tesco and the entire outfit cost me £12!! Sunglasses are from Asos last season and my necklace is a gift from Mike.

I rarely find something at TU as opposed to George at Asda or F&F at Tesco, but when I find something it is something I end up wearing a lot. I don't look very often at their clothing apart from stocking up on their leggings as they are my favourites, but I do look in the sales sometimes.

The horses in the New Forest seemed to like my dress too as they were very friendly and wanted to cuddle.

Isn't it cute?? And so little. :)

And all of a sudden I'm wearing my glasses so I can see properly. :)

Mike got a cuddle too. :)
Do you buy clothes from Supermarket brands like TU, F&F and George?

Plus Size Blogging- Hobby Or Business?

Plus Size Blogging- Hobby Or Business?

Do you consider your blog a hobby? Or maybe it has become so big that it is a full time job? No matter how you see your blog if you interact with brands and people in the industry you're writing about business cards are a must. You will soon find the need to get yourself some business cards as you WILL be asked for it when you go to events, go to shops, meet fellow bloggers, liaise with brands or meet up with new people that are curious to read your blog.

When I first started out my blog last August I never thought I would put this much time and effort into my blog. I thought it would be something I would quickly become tired of and quit doing. But I have surprised myself! I have got quite addicted to blogging. It's been so much fun involved that has kept me going. I know I'm still fairly a new blogger in terms of being a blogger, but for me it is a big achievement to actually consistently do something for so long and actually think about how I can develop my blog instead of giving up as I have done with so many things in life before.

I had some business cards made back in January, but I wasn't completely happy with them. Here is how they looked.
After I changed my domain I needed some new ones as it is a lot of fun events ahead and I wanted to point to my correct domain instead of telling everyone that I have changed it. It wouldn't make me look very professional would it? Mike kindly offered to pay for my business cards so I started designing them. I chose one of the pre made designs as I liked it so much, added a photo of myself and changed the colours a bit. Here is the result. I love them!
They are very me. Colours are kept simple and monochrome apart form the red on my lips and the red writing. They look classy, elegant and slightly vintage which was what I wanted so I'm so chuffed with them.

What do you think? Do you like my new business cards? Do you have business cards yourself?

The Curve

The Curve

I recently discovered a new plus size brand, The Curve*. They have edgy clothing up to size 22. I really like lots of their pieces so when lovely Claudia asked me if I wanted to review a couple of pieces I said of course yes. It was difficult to chose, but I chose this lovely body which I'm wearing in these photos. But I also have a lovely blazer that I will review next week.

The body is stunning. Claudia said that this is one of her favourite pieces from the collections and I have to say I agree. It's lovely. The Curve's sizes doesn't go higher for now than 22, but for me this was a perfect fit. Bigger sizes will come very soon which is amazing as edgy clothing in bigger sizes are few and far between. I know I will get so much wear out of this one as it is sexy without revealing anything. I can wear it for work and I can wear it for more of a party outfit.

I wore it when I went to London and received several comments on it. It looks lovely when I have worn it with a more casual outfit with a denim skirt, leggings and a cardigan. It's black, but it still stands out. Because it is different. I love the sheer part at the neckline. It makes it feel so feminine and the material is super soft.

Here is two takes on how to wear it. I'm sure you will see this body in other posts later too as I can already say that it is a wardrobe staple of mine. (I didn't realise it would be so see through or otherwise I would have worn a black bra!! )

A Rainy Day In London

A Rainy Day In London

Today I went up to London as a tourist with my Norwegian friend Heidi(she is a blogger as well, you can find her blog HERE). She lives in England as well and we live just down the street from each other so we have started hanging out together every now and then. She is a lovely girl who is quite inspiring as she has lost half her bodyweight in a few years time. She used to be a size 28, but now she is a size 14. I'm not going to talk about dieting or anything like that, just thought I would mention it as she has done so well.

We had planned to go to the Bloggers Love event, but it was cancelled so instead we decided to go to Covent Garden together since neither one of us had been there. We met in Guildford and took the train together up to London. As opposite to yesterday the weather wasn't great. In face it was raining most of the time we were there. But that did not stop us Norwegians from having fun! We had brought our umbrellas so we were happy! :)

We walked from Leicester Square and we soon found Mac! I had to go in to have a look as I have never been to that store before. I was very impressed as it was very big and the staff was very nice and friendly. I paid most attention to the lipsticks. They have so many nice shades. I found a new one I have to buy when I get paid. It's called Relentlessly Red and it is a beautiful summery matt coral red colour. I know I will get a lot of use from this shade in the summer. Heidi got a mini make over as the lovely Dean ( I think his name was) helped her find a foundation. I love going into Mac shops as they are so colourful and modern. It's always busy, but still the staff is so friendly and smiley. We then walked on to the Apple Market first. They have so much exciting accessories there and I ended up buying another pairs of sunglasses. I couldn't resist it!! They were too cute.

Mike had told me that when he was younger him and his friends use to go to the pub Punch and Judy and had a drink before we walked out in the rain.

We saw some rather intriguing street performers as well that was floating in the air. Can anyone tell me how they do this? Do they have a metal construction inside their clothes? Like a podium to stand on? Or have they just learned everything about levitation from Dynamo? :)

And now over to a little warning.

We got "hijacked" of some very eager sellers at Sakare where we got some free soap, but almost forced into buying something. They were talking so fast and clearly has been trained in cunning sales techniques. It felt like I was back in Egypt again and more or less had to buy something to be left alone. I hate aggressive sales people and I don't think it is a good approach by a company to almost force someone to buy something. Mac on the other hand doesn't have to work like that as they know that quality sell the brand.  My friend Heidi bought a nail kit which she found very useful. But they didn't respect our "we are not buying anything more" and more or less pleaded us to buy something more. They even half the price on a body butter to get us to buy it which is a big con especially considering they don't have prices showing in the shop for their products. We did not buy it. I'm so glad I didn't buy anything from there cause after I came home and got some time to think I felt a bit violated as a buyer.

After this very special episode we decided to go to Primark on Oxford Street. I know that is a brave thing to do, especially on a bank holiday, but it was fine. It was far from as busy as it was at Christmas so that was fine. I bought a few lovely bits which I'm sure you will soon see here. :)

We ended the day with a late lunch at Pizza Hut. It was raining quite hard at the time, so it was good to get inside and sit down.

London is a great city to visit and I'm sure a lot of people in Norway find it very exciting that I only live half an hour outside of where everything happens. It's nice to go there for a day, but I do find it a bit of a relief when I sit on the train home. The hectic pace and all the people makes it a bit too much for me. I think as you become older you feel more like seeking quiet and peace.

What did you guys do over the Bank Holidays?

xxxx Mookie.

My Summer Flirt....

My Summer Flirt....

Have you ever had a dress that you literally have been in love with? A dress that makes you smile all day long just because you are wearing it? A dress that you know you would rescue in case of fire? I have found mine! I have had a while and worn it quite a few times. Took the photos quite a long time ago as well, but never felt like sharing them before today. I'm talking about this dress.

Dress from Yours Clothing (HERE)
Cardigan from Primark (old)
Tights from Tesco
Shoes from Marisota*(HERE, on sale NOW)
Bracelets from Evans (Old)
Flower from Forever 21 (Old)
Necklace from TU at Sainsburys (Old)
Glasses from Karen Millen via Specsavers (HERE)

Isn't is beautiful? It has so much I love. It's a skater dress so it is a very flattering shape for most shapes. Soft material and great length. Just above the knee on me. The dress comes with a black patent belt which looks lovely on and gives you even more of a flattering shape. I love the colour of course and the flocked pattern just makes it even more beautiful.

It's that kind of dress you can wear to a date night, to work, to a family dinner or even to a wedding. I'm a guest in a big wedding later this summer and this dress is one of the dresses I'm thinking of wearing. It has a vintage feel to it and goes with so many things. You can dress it up and make it more edgy by teaming it with a leather jacket and ankle boots.

These photos were taken a while back when it was colder so I was wearing the dress with tights. Now I would wear it with bare legs which makes it more summery. But it just proves that you can easily wear it a bit later in the year as well.

I wore this outfit with my lovely shoes from Marisota*. They were gifted to me and are so comfortable and looks nice with a lot of things. The style of shoe is very good for work as it doesn't have too high heels, but still gives you a little bit of a heel that gives you a bit of elegance. I love how they are perfect for whenever I wear my girly style. They are very girly, but the studs on the top of the shoe gives makes them stand out a bit.

I'm so happy with this dress and it is the best buy I have ever done from Yours Clothing. It also comes in a nude pink and white as well so if mint green isn't your favourite colour, but you like the dress there is two options. All I can say to Yours Clothing is, more dresses like this please!

Summertime...

Summertime...

Brings swimwear, sun, beach and holidays. But a thing that might be forgotten by many is accessories for the beach.

I was contacted by House Of  Fraser who asked if I wanted to take a look at their summer accessories section. It's only the last few years I have enjoyed going to the beach, but I've always thought that a good beach bag or a great big beach towel is essentials to a good day on the beach. Sunglasses and pretty cover ups too.

I took a look through their beach section HERE and I saw so many lovely things that would make everyone who loves going to the beach happy.

I totally fell in love when I saw this amazing tote bag by Ollie and Nic. With it's beautiful Lovebird print and turquoise colour it ticked all the boxes for a lovely beach bag. Fun, colourful and practical is how I can describe this bag. It is big and roomy and have a practical pocket for keys and your phone. It also has another practical pocket with a zip. It's made of a synthetic fabric that makes it ideal for the beach as it doesn't matter too much if you get a bit of water on it. Be quick to secure one for yourself as there is few left. It's on sale for £14.40 HERE. Here is how I styled it on my first trip to the beach of the year.

As you can see from the photos I'm also wearing this beautiful bracelet from Mikey at House of Fraser. It's a vintage looking elastic flower bracelet that will be so cute with dresses this summer. It has a stunning peachy colour and the photo on website doesn't do it justice. I can see myself wearing this bracelet for a garden party, a date night in a pub garden or even to a wedding. But if you want it, be quick as there is very few left. You can buy it HERE for £15.

Are beach accessories important to you or don't you mind if you have your stuff in a carrier bag?
