Spicing Up Cow Cow Dresses.

Spicing Up Cow Cow Dresses.

It's needless to say that when I saw all the fun prints of the Cow Cow dresses I fell in love! I think it was over at Leah's blog I saw them first and I knew I had to have a few. And for that price I just as well bought four of them. Not everyday you get four dresses for the price of one cheap dress. I paid £20 for all four of them!!!

The first one I wore is this beautiful Chinese blossom dress in lilac. I'm wearing 3X and it's such a great fit. I have got so many compliments when wearing this dress and people can't believe it when they hear the price of it. And it is quite amazing really. These dresses are made in a scuba kind of material that has lots and lots of stretch to it so it shapes itself after your body. The length of the dress is really nice too as it hits me right on my knees. I teamed it with a cardigan in a pastel blue colour and they go so well together. This is probably one of my favourite colour combinations ever as I love pastel colours.

The second dress I've brought with me is this beautiful cat and planets dress in lilac, pink and white. It's such a cute dress and it's my definite favourite of the four.
When I went down to see Leah just before I went out to Spain I wore this dress and she said that with my irridescent backpack from Accessorize I looked like Baby Spice and she said to me, "why don't you put your hair up in some buns or pigtails and you will be Baby Spice". So I did. And here is the result!!!

It was such a fun shoot to do and although I was never a big fan of Spice Girls I always adored the colourful and eclectic style. And it threw me straight back to the 90s. My favourite decade. The decade of me being young, carefree and daring. I used to go around and have multi coloured hair in red and green, blue and black and everything in between. :) My fashion sense was extremely far out there and I loved being noticed!

I adore my backpack from Accessorize. It's just the best investment I've done fashion wise in a long time. It goes with everything. And it certainly makes any outfit a bit more exciting. It goes so well with these quirky and fun dresses from CowCow so I look like I'm taken straight from a 90s magazine.

So far I've only worn two of them as I forgot to pack the other two when I travelled to Spain, but here is a photo of me in all four of them. Please excuse me for not wearing a bra in these photos.

The sizing is the only bad things about these dresses as a lot of people I know have bought them and the sizing is all over the place. I think it has to do with the design of the dresses and what fabric that has been used. I bought mine from Amazon UK and they are all really great size wise. I wear 3X in all of them apart from the Pineapple one which is 2X and as you can see they fit perfectly. These dresses I've got contains 10% Spandex so they are super strechy.

Talking about the 90s, I had a bit of a throw back to the 90s the other day when I was wearing a red top with mesh detailing and round sunglasses. I had my hair in half up bun and I seriously looked like I did in the 90s. I can't believe that it has been 20 years since one of the best years of my life as mentally I still feel like I'm still 21!!!

Swimwear With Simply Be

Swimwear With Simply Be

Before I went out on my travels to explore one of my favourite countries, Spain, I decided that I had to get myself some new swimwear. I always like to update my swimwear wardrobe from time to time as with everything else you get tired of wearing the same things. However, finding good swimwear for bigger girls is something I find very very challenging. It's especially three things that are crucial when it comes to me finding a costume that becomes that good one that I always keep coming back to. Support in the boobs region is the most important for me when it comes to swimwear. Imagine swimming around and all of a sudden your boobs are doing their own thing cause believe me, they like to float!!! And to get good support I've found that underwires in the cups  not necessarily is the solution as a sturdy and good thick material still with good stretch is the best for me as the fabric keeps my boobs firmly in place and also gives it a great shape, lift and it feels comfortable. Secondly it's important that the costume stays in place, i.e doesn't ride up or down as this becomes such a distracting element while you're swimming either it be for exercise or for fun or both. Thirdly it's so important with well fitted bottoms. I have yet to find a great fitting pair of bikini bottoms/tankini bottoms cause most bottoms are too baggy around my bum. I have a lot narrower hips than my top half so it's always been a challenge to find something that fits well on top and bottom at the same time.

I decided to go for some items from Simply Be as they had some great swimwear and beach cover ups . I had high hopes for this Gingham patterned tankini, but when I got it I hadn't received my bottoms so I had to use another pair I already had so I can only review the top. On the website the top looked stunning and what made me buy it was the 50s feel to it and retro style as it was cute and the colour was also stunning.

When I first tried it on I was very happy that it at least fitted over my boobs in my size 24. But as soon as I started wearing it a little around the house I noticed that there was no support in this tankini top at all. It has built in cups and one of those "shelves" that will give your boobs support and lift. But sadly not for huge boobs like mine. My boobs are fighting gravity every day and for someone that is 41 years old and have heavy breasts I don't think my boobs are too saggy. But this tankini does what it can to help gravity doing its job. My boobs look flat!!! And that is not a desired look, especially on the beach where you want to feel confident and sexy.

The material is quite flimsy and not at all thick enough to give me the needed support. The straps are super stretchy and are adjustable, but even when I'm taking them into the tightest they can come it's not improving the support. It's such a shame as with a design like this I thought I might had found a new favourite swimming costume.

The pattern and design of this tankini is so cute and I adore it, but that is not enough to make me want to wear this. It might be a better fit for those of you who has smaller boobs as the design is super cute.

I also bought a kaftan from Simply Be which I absolutely love. I loved the look of it on the website and it is just as lovely in real life. It was quite windy on the beach when I went and took these photos and it made me feel like a diva walking down the beach in the beautiful flowy animal print pattern. I'm wearing size XL here and I'm glad I went for that as I don't like cover ups to be tight fitting as you tend to get a bit sticky from sun creams and damp from water, so better to have a bit of fabric to spare.

The design is beautiful. It has a knotted design which gives it a deep plunging neckline and also a big split all the way up to your waist. So if you want to show off a hints of skin while sitting down for lunch by the pool bar this kaftan is definitely for you. I'm even tempted to wear this kaftan as a dress with just a black short skirt under and a cropped top! I might do that one night and update this post with photos.

I love the different colours in the animal print. It gives it a subtle, but sexy detail. This kaftan is not screaming for attention, but it's classy and sexy.

The length is also really good on me. I'm 5'6 and it's floor length on me which is perfect as I like my long dresses to reach the floor.

Do you find it easy to find plus size swimwear?

Under Cover In Spain Wearing Boohoo

Under Cover In Spain Wearing Boohoo

Just before I left for my stay in Spain I was lucky enough to be invited to Boohoo's press day where we were shown some really nice pieces from their current and upcoming collections. I love Boohoo cause they have very affordable fashion for plus size women. Their sizes goes up to 24, but some up to 26 and their sizing is in many cases very generous so it can cater for sizes above the 26 mark.

The day before I left I received one of the pieces we had seen at the press day. This Dina Camo cropped bomber jacket* that I think most of us who was there fell in love with. What did it for me was when the beautiful and funny Olivia Campbell wore it and told us it was cropped cause I love cropped jackets!!! Cropped jackets works so well on girls with big boobs. I remember when I was younger and lived in Norway, whenever I read an article or saw some fashion advice for bigger girls it told me to avoid cropped jackets at all cost as they would just make your boobs look bigger and more bulk up top. Biggest non sense I've ever heard!!! Cropped jackets are perfect as they nip you in just under the boobs, which in most cases also is the narrowest of your upper body so it means it looks super flattering and gives you a really nice shape.

This jacket is no exception! I love it!!! I love the colours, I love the shape of it, I love that it is collarless and the fabric is really nice too.
I'm wearing a size 24 which is perfect for me. I don't find it too small or too tight. I think Boohoo is very good in most cases with their sizing so I was very confident choosing this jacket despite it not going higher in size than a 24.
I chose to style it with a cropped top and a leather skirt as I wanted to keep it edgy. I always prefer to pull the sleeves up as I always get too hot and here in Spain at the moment it is way to warm for jackets during daytime, but I can see myself wearing this exactly like this going out in the evenings for a drink. I also like the look the pulled up sleeves give.

Silly as I am I forgot to put shoes on before I did these photos, but I think a pair of Converse would be a good look. Same with block heels sandals.
The only thing I don't like about this jacket is the pockets as they are way too big!!! They kind of hang out of the jacket which is not a very nice look. It's easily fixed with a couple of stitches though so that is what I will be doing.
The colours of this jacket is pretty and quite neutral. I can myself using this jacket with white, pinkish colours, neutrals and grey as well, so in the autumn I think it would look great with a polo neck jumper, jeans and sneakers.

I love the skirt I'm wearing as well. It's from New Look and you can find it HERE in both black as I'm wearing and in Burgundy. It's a-line and it has pockets!!! Nothing is better than pockets, so this skirt will be one of my autumnal favourites. I'm wearing a size 24 and it's true to size.
