The perfect dress!

The perfect dress!

I was blown away when I first saw this dress and couldn't wait till it hit the stores. It had the perfect colours, the perfect pattern and the perfect design. I'm talking about Em's Blogger Takeover dress from Simply Be.

I have had this dress since it first came out, but I have only worn it three times. Don't ask me why cause everytime I put it on I feel amazing.

I wore it to the office today and like before when I have worn it I get so many compliments about how flattering this dress is and how nicely it shows off my figure. And I can't do anything else than agree. As soon as I put it on I feel amazing and I automatically changes attitude and posture. It just makes me look 2 stone slimmer! Even if the dress shows off my belly which I normally hate, I don't mind it because the ruching across my tummy that kind of distracts from the fact that I have a big round belly and makes it flattering to have one. I bought this dress in size 22 and that is perfect. It fits so well over my boobs and at the same time it is not too baggy over my tummy or my hips which lots of other dresses does which makes me have to wear a belt with them.

Like I said I wore this dress to the office and wore patent black wedges with it, while in the pictures I'm at IKEA and I am wearing my trusted black flats that I have been wearing all summer. Couldn't imagine walking around at IKEA in wedges.. I think everyone that ever has been to IKEA know that when you go there your feet will get tired! :) I still think it looks really pretty.

I know this dress will be really good to wear in the winter since it is quite heavy. Instead of my bare legs I will wear it with tights or leggings and a cool leather jacket and boots of course.

A big thank you to Em for designing this dress and I really hope there will be more dresses like this.

I'm wearing my lovely silver bracelet that I made at arts and crafts in school when I was a teenager and it has followed me ever since. I will make a better post about it later as it probably is my most treasure item of jewelry.

I'm very sorry for the bad picture quality. They were taken on a cam phone and it doesn't upload the best quality I'm afraid.

Monochrome Sunday.

Monochrome Sunday.

When I woke up this morning I was in the mood for something less summery than what I've worn the last few weeks. Since it was a rather gloomy mourning I decided to wear one of my favourite combinations black and white. I am a big fan of bright colours, but I have weakness for patterns in black and white. I have bought several black and white dresses over the summer, so today I choose to wear this lovely dress from F&F at Tesco. I love finding bargains and this dress I found in a sale for only £7. It's a comfortable dress, but as with most dresses a bit snug over my boobs. I teamed it with leggings and red flats. And of course my signature red lipstick. The dress was very good to wear and made me feel very cool when the sun came poor later in the day. I don't normally buy clothes from F&F, but a few times I have been able to find a gem. This dress will be used more as it gets colder add it's nice enough for work as well and I can team it with chunky knit and boots.I teamed it with leggings from Sainsburys which are my favourite leggings as they are super comfy, cheap and I can drag them above my tummy which is always a plus. Wore shoes from New Look past season. My handbag is from a street market in Spain as I love picking up accessoires whenever I'm abroad. My earrings are bought in Norway and I think they are so cute and their vibrant colour liven up any boring outfit. My belt I picked up from ebay and are funny and cute with its two flies.

Bank holiday weekend

Bank holiday weekend

Another week at work is over and this week has been extra hard. Not just work, but I'm struggling with my Meniers decease so I've been very dizzy and nauseous. I've gone to work every day so it feels like I need this weekend of more than ever before. And this weekend is a long one since it's bank holiday weekend here in England. We don't have bank holidays on Norway so when I first moved over I did not know what they were. In Norway we have public holidays too, but they are mainly Christian holidays.

Normally Mike and I would go somewhere since it is a long weekend, but due to my dizzyness we have decided to just go for day trips locally instead.

Saturday and Monday we are going to football matches. Both of us love football so we are going to go and watch Woking play. Very often we go away to watch Woking play away and make a whole weekend away out of it. It's a great way to see more of England and to watch good football. Can't complain about that! :)

Sunday we are taking my mother in law to the New Forest. I love the New Forest! It's such a unique place and I find it very soothing for my nerves to be there. It's such lovely surroundings and a huge bonus is to see the animals roam around free.

Today I have been wearing this lovely soft cotton dress from Scandinavian plus size shops Zizzi. I bought this dress back in May when I was on holiday in Norway. It was a bargain at only £20! This dress is perfect for summer as it is light and has this stunning green colour. I love colours and more and more of my clothes comes in bright colours and vibrant patterns. I have teamed it up with a plain white cardigan, black ballerina shoes and black accessoires which makes it a casual look at work for a dress down Friday.

My birthday

My birthday

It was my birthday in July and as always
since I moved here to England my mother in law took us all out for a meal with the rest of the family. I choose to go to a Mexican restaurant in Guildford called Son of Sombrero. I love Mexican food so off course it world be a first choice. The food was delicious( We all shared nachos as a starter and then I had a lovely vegetarian Chimichanga) and most of us were wearing our sombreros that hung on our chairs when we arrived. After the meal I was surprised by the staff at the restaurant when they came playing with instruments and have me a glass filled with cream. The waiter said that is was a game cause I had to find the shot in the middle of the glass without using my hands, which meant that I had to dive in with my face. It was so much fun and I did find the shot and drank it all without using my hands. It was such a good laugh and I even signed the ceiling before I left:-P

After the restaurant we all went home to ours for coffee and cakes and opening of presents I got a lot of nice stuff a you can see in the photos.

My favourite present I did get from my lovely husband. He have me this lovely heart shaped pendant from a local jewelry designer called Gemma J. It is such a timeless stunning piece of jewellery so I fell in love with it straight away.
He has good taste my husband. :)

All in all it was a great evening(although I think the very best present was when I spoke with my daughter on the phone. It was so good to hear her voice again. Miss her!)

Here are a few photos of some outfits I've worn. I'm a dress girl that rarely wears trousers or jeans. Always on the look out for the perfect dress.

Evening drive

Evening drive

Today have been a lazy day, a typical Sunday in other words.Haven't done anything today apart from playing Tapped Out, which I am totally addicted to, cuddling with my lovely husband while watching football and pampering myself getting ready for a work week ahead.

Late tonight when most people are thinking of going to bed we decided to go out for a drive. We do that quite a lot as both of us really enjoy being out driving. Just chatting away and sometimes listen to music and sing our hearts out. Tonight was so hot as it has been very often lately and I don't handle this heat very well so we just had to get out and get some fresh air.

I always like taking photos and tonight was no different. A couple of photos taken along our drive. Surrey has got some lovely drives with "tunnels" surrounded by overhanging big trees that makes the drive quite spooky. I love the nature of England and I spend quite a lot of time out and about enjoying the beauty that surrounds us.

Lovely night view from my beautiful city Guildford.

I tried this new nail varnish from Barry M today. Since stopping biting my nails one and a half years ago I have spent quite a lot of money on nail polish and I love trying new ones. This one is the
Confetti Nail Effects
in the blue colour. I put two layers of white nail varnish and then another two layers of the Confetti Nail Effects. Not quite sure what I think yet, but it is no favourite so far. It was very thin and you don't get much confetti on the brush. Without a lighter base colour it wouldn't show much at all.

I'm glad to be back blogging as it is nice to get thoughts down and hopefully I will get some new readers as well.

Work tomorrow so guess it is about time to go to sleep soon so I am not like a zombie at work. Busy enough as it is.

xxx Anne-Lise.

Saturday work

Saturday work

Summer is still around and I would have loved to go down to the beach, but instead I chose to go to work as it's very busy and being Saturday means that it's no phone calling our any other distractions. My husband is manager in the same company so we both went in. It helps a lot having him there, at least we have each other and are spending time together. Putting on the music on LOUD and work. Was quite productive so at least I managed to get quite a lot done. That again makes me relax more for the week to come which always is a bonus. Was wearing my new laceyForever 21 top. It is so nice and summery and the colour is stunning. It is good stretch in it too so it feels really good on. I teamed it up with my high low hem skirt from Simply be which is on sale now, my ballerina shoes from New Look and my lovely new handbag that I got for my birthday. Tomorrow I am going to have a pampering day and do some DIY on myself.
