Dress down Friday and Weekend!!!

It's Friday!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D Finally Friday. It has been a long hard week this week as I've been struggling with head aches all week after my fainting Friday last week. Been to work every day so when I have come home in the evenings I have collapsed in bed totally exhausted. Have been feeling a bit better every day so that is good for the weekend as I'm going to my sister in law which I'm looking very much forward to. Going to a maket as well, so I will keep my eyes out for a bargain (Oh, I forgot to mention that my shopping ban is over!!!) or two... :)

Today it is dress down Friday at work so that means that I can be a bit more adventurous in my clothes.

I got an Asos delivery the other day and among the things I got was this very cute and fun Check print top. I knew my colleagues at work would comment on it and they did. One guy said that they could lay me on the floor and use me as a chess board. :)

The top itself is lovely. Nice soft cotton, not much stretch, but still very comfortable. The peplum top makes my curves look great and it makes me feel like a million dollars. I'm wearing jeggings with fake leather panels down the side. Don't remember where I bought it, but they are great. Very versatile and thick good quality so I can use them when it gets colder as well. Since it still is ok temperature out there I only wore this with red flats from last season New Look. And of course my signature lippy!! :)

Standard Office Outfit

I work in an office, and as normal here in UK you dress appropriately according to company policies. In my office it is smart, but not necessarily office smart that is the dress code. I normally wear dresses with tights and heels or flats, but have to leave the most coulorful and patterned garments at home.

Every night before I go to bed I chose what to wear the next morning so I don't have to panic in the morning about what to wear, cause trust me in the morning if I get stressed regarding what to wear means trouble!!

Today I was wearing my trusted polkadot very ladylike dress from New Look Inspire that I find so comfortbable for work. It is made in a very light jersey fabric, yet not see through which is a big bonus as it means I can just slip it on, team it with some cute shoes and out the door. I do like New Look Inspire range, but I think very many of their dresses are made of cheap feeling fabic that clings and the lining is static. They can do it right, as proven with this dress, so New Look why not make more of these kind of dresses? They are versatile for work or a night out or even if it is the first time you meet your new boyfriends mum. Not too revealing, but still sexy and figure hugging.

Shoes are from Evans and my beautiful necklace I found on Etsy.
What do you guys think of New Look Inspire?

Quiet weekend and new lipstick!

This weekend has been quiet and nothing much has happened. I got sick on Friday as I fainted three times, once at work, so had to go to the doctor. Took lots of blood tests and checked my heart and blood pressure, but couldn't find anything wrong then and there. Got instructions from the doctor to stay in bed and rest all weekend and then come back for more blood tests on Tuesday. Was very worried on Friday, cause have only fainted one time before in my life. But the weekend has been nice despite me not feeling very well. Mike has been the kindest most caring nurse a patient could ask for. He has done everything for me so I wouldn't have to strain myself.
Have used the time I have had to catch up on some things that I haven't had time for lately due to stress at work. I have done some few things to my blog as I'm really enjoying blogging again after a long break. I have registrered for tickets for Plus London, cause I really wanted to go to Plus North this weekend, but I couldn't (and due to me fainting I'm glad I hadn't made arrangements) for several reasons. Looking forward to Plus London though even if I'm new to all this plus size blogging community. Will probably made a whole weekend out of it even if I live only 35 min outside of London.
Mike surprised me yesterday when he went out shopping, cause he came back home with some nice little gifts for me that he knew I would get use for. I have a shopping ban for myself, but I'm not breaking that if my lovely husband are buying me a gift. He bought me some fun Glowing nail polishes that will be perfect for when we go out from work for Halloween. He also bought me a new brown eyeliner and two eyebrow pencils as he knew I was running low. He also bought me a lovely lipstick in a bright pink colour. Lovely it was!! It is the shade 20 from Kate Moss' range with Rimmel.
Today it was a very dark and gloomy day so we only went for a drive to get some fresh air. I always have the window open when we are out driving and this cleared my head. I have struggled with a headache all weekend so was good to get out for a bit.
I tried my new lipstick today and it is so pretty. I have two of Kate Moss' range lipstick now and both are really good. Great deep colours and they stay on really well without bleeding too much if I haven't applied lip liner.
Going to work tomorrow to see how I feel. I will take it easy though as I don't want to faint again. Hopefully I will be ok as it is so boring just having to stay in all weekend.

Did you guys have a nice weekend or did the weather put a damp on the activities?

Enjoying the last days of summer.

Every year I refuse to let go of summer. I do love the summer even if I don't handle the heat very well. If it goes above 25 degrees celsius I seem to struggle. That aside I do love the summer cause I love wearing light clothes and shoes and walk around with bare legs and be ready to go out in just a minute. No need for any warm coats or boots (although I love boots and coats in the winter), just a lovely summer dress and a pair of sandals and you're off.
This year is no different. It seems to have been a change in weather over the last couple of days, but I spent a lovely evening the other day in my mother in law's lovely garden watering the plants (and myself :D).
I was wearing a lovely summer dress in Paisley print from New Look Inspire which I think is lovely. I think New Look has got lovely affordable clothes for plus sizes. Sometimes the fabric tend to be a bit cheap quality and tend to cling to the body, but this dress is lovely. I couldn't find the blue one I'm wearing on the website anymore, but they do have the Pink one on the website for £14.99 which is a bargain price.

I'm also wearing these really cute sandals from Evans. I am a big fan of Evans footwear and these are brilliant. Lovely colour and lovely shape. You easily add 3 inches to your height without feeling like your about to fall over. They are reasonably comfortable and I wore them the whole day in the office with no problems or pain. They sell them now at Evans for bargain price of £15.00.

Are you guys still clinging on to summer or have you started getting down boots and coats from the attic?

Sorry for the bad photo quality, taken with my phone so not to best.

Skincare for my sensitive skin.

Just like my mum, I have always had very sensitive skin. That means that it gets itchy and dry very easily and in winter it can crack and be quite painful. I have never had to do much to my skin apart from making sure that in winter it stays moisturised, but as I have got older I have noticed the need for more and more skincare. I love Simple's products and Avene's products as they are mild on my sensitive skin.  I also like skincare that is quickly done as I never have enough time....

I'm a big fan of make up remover wipes instead of make up removers, so the other day when I went to the shop they had an offer on for Simple products. I decided to try two of their types of wipes as I haven't tried any other than their normal facial wipes.

One of them is the Kind to Skin Exfoliating Facial Wipes.
I tried them after removing my make up with another make up removing wipe.  I used the exfoliating side of them first and then went over my skin with the smooth side. My skin felt very good and the exfoliating did not seem to harsh on my sensitive skin. I normally try to exfoliate my skin only a couple of times a week since I think most exfoliaters are very tough on my skin. With these wipes on the other hand I think I could exfoliate every other day. And to be honest, you wouldn't have to use them everyday as the day after using them the skin still felt very smooth and soft. I used my trusted moisturiser from Avene after and my felt better and I thought it looked better the next day as well. I think these wipes will be the new staple in my toilet bag from now on, especially on travels since they are multi purpose and are light weight. These wipes get a definitely recommend from me.

The other wipes I bought are the Simple Radiance Brightening Cleansing Wipes. First of all these wipes smells really nice of mango which is nice as a change to other wipes. I tried them on days in between using the exfoliating wipes and they work well to remove make up. I couldn't really see any other advantages with them than normal make up remover wipes and they are more expensive. If they had not been on offer I probably wouldn't have chosen them due to the price. After trying them I would say that these are good wipes for removing make up and they smells good, but they are more expensive than other wipes in Simple's range, so I won't be buying them again.

What skincare products are your personal favourites? What kind of skin type do you have?

My trusted skin care products are these.

New tattoo?

I was for a very long time hesitant if I wanted a tattoo or not as I did not think it was very feminine to have lots of tattoos. Me and my hubby had been thinking of getting matching tattoos for a while, but never gone through with it. I had this image in my head that it would be scary to go to a tattoo shop as well, I don't know why really. Probably just me being judgmental:(

But in July when my best friend was over from Norway I decided to have one done. Just a little one on my wrist, something personal that meant something to me, and a tattoo that was unique for me.

I had it done and I loved it. The tattooist was so nice and good and made me feel so at ease. And the result was exactly how I wanted it to be and better than what I had in mind. :)
Here is my tattoo that means eternal love and my husbands initial is like a heartbeat of the heart.

Ever since then I have wanted my husband to get one, but he is reluctant what he wants so he keeps postponing it. I know he would like it, but I don't want to push him.

Me on the other hand want to get another one as soon as possible and I'm thinking about getting another one this weekend.

I have seen a couple of tattoos I would like, so I think I will call and book and appointment in the morning.

This time I want to get one done on my foot.. I love butterflies and fairies so that was a natural choice when I thought of one.

Which one of these do you guys like best?

I love polka dots.

I have always loved polka dots. I remember being a teenager back in the 80s having a bright neon pink jumper with huge dots on. Loved it! I felt so stylish. Big bows in the hair as well... Wish I had some photos from back then, but thanks to me being such a nomad moving around so much there is few photos of me as a teenager!

This dress is from Lovedrobe and I absolutely love it. I wore it to work the other day and got lots of compliments wearing it. The colour is gorgeous. A pale orange, more like a peachy colour and I think it suits my complexion perfectly. The dress has a typical 50s feel to it and I love that style. It is made for women with a curvy body. I bought it in a size 24 which I have to admit was a tad bit too big for me, but normally I have to choose size 24 to fit my boobs in ;) I love the material, it is light and airy and an absolute favourite of the summer. It has a lovely white satin ribbon to the waist and a tie to the back so you can get more of a shape. This dress is wider across the shoulders than any other dress I have got, but I think it works lovely as it balances my hips and gives me more of an hourglass figure. I matched this dress with my black patent wedges from last years season at Evans and a lovely mint green handbag from Primark. I love Primark's handbags. Always trendy and the price is always a bonus. This handbag was a bargain of £9.

The shoes from Evans are in my opinion the most comfortable shoes for my wide feet. They are always the correct fit and I love both shoes, sandals and boots from them. Sometimes the shoes can be a bit pricey, but I'm a big fan of their shoe range.

In the week that has gone I met up with some plus size women that I buy stuff of sometimes and I got some really great polka dot items I look forward wearing in the autumn.

Do you guys like polka dots or is it too girly?

The perfect dress!

I was blown away when I first saw this dress and couldn't wait till it hit the stores. It had the perfect colours, the perfect pattern and the perfect design. I'm talking about Em's Blogger Takeover dress from Simply Be.

I have had this dress since it first came out, but I have only worn it three times. Don't ask me why cause everytime I put it on I feel amazing.

I wore it to the office today and like before when I have worn it I get so many compliments about how flattering this dress is and how nicely it shows off my figure. And I can't do anything else than agree. As soon as I put it on I feel amazing and I automatically changes attitude and posture. It just makes me look 2 stone slimmer! Even if the dress shows off my belly which I normally hate, I don't mind it because the ruching across my tummy that kind of distracts from the fact that I have a big round belly and makes it flattering to have one. I bought this dress in size 22 and that is perfect. It fits so well over my boobs and at the same time it is not too baggy over my tummy or my hips which lots of other dresses does which makes me have to wear a belt with them.

Like I said I wore this dress to the office and wore patent black wedges with it, while in the pictures I'm at IKEA and I am wearing my trusted black flats that I have been wearing all summer. Couldn't imagine walking around at IKEA in wedges.. I think everyone that ever has been to IKEA know that when you go there your feet will get tired! :) I still think it looks really pretty.

I know this dress will be really good to wear in the winter since it is quite heavy. Instead of my bare legs I will wear it with tights or leggings and a cool leather jacket and boots of course.

A big thank you to Em for designing this dress and I really hope there will be more dresses like this.

I'm wearing my lovely silver bracelet that I made at arts and crafts in school when I was a teenager and it has followed me ever since. I will make a better post about it later as it probably is my most treasure item of jewelry.

I'm very sorry for the bad picture quality. They were taken on a cam phone and it doesn't upload the best quality I'm afraid.

Monochrome Sunday.

When I woke up this morning I was in the mood for something less summery than what I've worn the last few weeks. Since it was a rather gloomy mourning I decided to wear one of my favourite combinations black and white. I am a big fan of bright colours, but I have weakness for patterns in black and white. I have bought several black and white dresses over the summer, so today I choose to wear this lovely dress from F&F at Tesco. I love finding bargains and this dress I found in a sale for only £7. It's a comfortable dress, but as with most dresses a bit snug over my boobs. I teamed it with leggings and red flats. And of course my signature red lipstick. The dress was very good to wear and made me feel very cool when the sun came poor later in the day. I don't normally buy clothes from F&F, but a few times I have been able to find a gem. This dress will be used more as it gets colder add it's nice enough for work as well and I can team it with chunky knit and boots.I teamed it with leggings from Sainsburys which are my favourite leggings as they are super comfy, cheap and I can drag them above my tummy which is always a plus. Wore shoes from New Look past season. My handbag is from a street market in Spain as I love picking up accessoires whenever I'm abroad. My earrings are bought in Norway and I think they are so cute and their vibrant colour liven up any boring outfit. My belt I picked up from ebay and are funny and cute with its two flies.
