Last Wednesday me and my Norwegian friend Heidi came with me to London to the Bloggers Love 1 year birthday party. It was said to be a big birthday celebration so the expectations were high. Cause last time I went it was very good. But I was so disappointed.. Especially after spending a lot of money on travelling up and travel in London which is extortionate. The fashion show itself was quite good, but AGAIN no plus size brands. Of the 10 best brands of the year, no plus size brand? Really? No aspiring designers in plus size fashion? I find it very hard to understand. But it wasn't all negative at all. I had a great time speaking to some lovely ladies that were there to show what their brands had to offer.

One brand that was great to meet was lovely Tongue Will Wag Fashion. They were very interested in hearing about us Plus Size bloggers and said that they were thinking of starting with Plus Size too. The owner, Danielle,  also told Katie and me that she was going to attend the Pre Party for Plus North forthcoming weekend, so for those of you who are going, make sure you stop by and say hello. And send my love!! :) I have had a look on their website after the event and they have great stuff. Not much clothing that will fit me, but their accessories are so gorgeous!! And the prices are very pleasant as well so I know I will spend some of my overtime money when they come in on my account this week. Here are some examples of what they have.

I have already bought the lip earrings and next payday I will be buying more. I need to have the lipstick earrings and possibly the ring too.


The last shop I want to mention is Unique Avenue. I spoke to the lovely ladies at their stand and asked them if they had been thinking of doing plus size clothing. They said they had been thinking of it which made me happy as fashion should be available in all sizes. Their clothes were beautiful. I fell in love with this  beautiful mint green dress they had. Just a shame it doesn't come up in larger sizes or otherwise I think they would have got a sale there from me.





And the best of the evening was that I got to spend time with Heidi and I also got to meet lovely Katie again, so it was worth it for that reason.  Here are a few of photos from the fashion show and the day.

We all have things in our lives that we can't live without. Some are more precious than others. My most precious belongings are a photo of my dad as a 7 year old, a photo of my mum as a teenager in the 60s on the back of a motorcycle and a photo also of my dad from the time he spent serving in the Independent Norwegian Brigade Group in Germany. I also treasure my diamond ring that my dad gave me for my 30th birthday highly. Since my parents both are dead these items are the first ones I would have rescued in case of fire.

Less precious, but still very important to me are these five fashion/beauty things that I can't live without.

1. My Norwegian traditional knitted jacket, in Norwegian called Lusekofte.



I inherited this one when my mum passed away. I had one when I was younger that had belonged to my uncle, but it has got lost somewhere due to my nomad lifestyle. My mum used this jacket a lot and I remember I always said to her, I want one too. She had knitted it herself, but she never got around to knitting me one before she passed away.
In England these jackets are looked upon as Christmas jumpers, while in Norway there are used as warm winter layering, like a casual jumper. These jackets are very expensive and cost around £300.
I wear it in the winter months and it means so much to me since it belonged to my mum. I love the fact that it is red as well.

2. My blue crossover body handbag with zips and studs.



I bought this handbag when I went to Naples in 2013. Street market best quality and cost me the huge sum of €10! I love this handbag as it is so versatile and can contain so much. It's unbelievable how much a little bag like that can hold. I always use this handbag when I go on holiday as I get to have my hands free at airports and out sightseeing. It's blue colour also goes with most things, but the zips and the studs makes it a bit different.

3. My Ruby Woo Mac lipstick.



Everyone that has seen me know that I really like my lipsticks. My favourite is red and the best one I have ever tried is Ruby Woo from Mac . I remember being a kid and my mum always used to have red lipstick in her handbag. She wore it quite often so I guess I got some inspiration from her. Lipsticks are my favourite beauty product and I have at least 60 different ones.

4. My Tangle Teezer


What did I do before Mike bought me one of these? It's just distant memories with painful combing of wet hair. It's pure pleasure washing my hair and most of all brushing through it. This brush is so ingenious that I can't praise it highly enough. If you haven't tried  it yet, try it! You won't get disappointed.

5. My Black Open Knit Cardigan

I have had this cardigan since 2007 and I have used it for and with everything. It's still in very good condition and even the black is still black. Not redish black or greenish black like it often tend to get after some washes. I have worn it for work, for date nights, for travels, for layering in colder periods, funerals and for even for a wedding. It's so versatile and very flattering. I bought it in a Norwegian shop and it cost me around £40. Best £40 spent ever.

Yay!!! It is 6th of June and that means that it is time for Mike to choose what HE want to see me in. Of course if he could dress me in ANYTHING he want to I would probably have an adult warning sign here.. :) But don't worry. Not too much flashing of skin. :)

I really like this challenge and Mike is impressing me in his choices of clothes. It's modern and edgy and he get me to see a different side to myself.

"This month I chose a short skater skirt in faux leather. It looked good and was unusual with the perforated design. The top he chose because it was an exciting and vibrant colour.
Combining the two together made it very edgy and stylish. The necklace topped the whole outfit off"

And I have to say I'm very happy with the outfit. I would definitely have chosen it myself. My only wish is that the skirt was a tiny bit longer as I will have to wear leggings under this on a normal day to not feel self conscious.





I love the necklace Mike chose. It's really cool and I know I will wear it lots in the time to come.

This challenge is so exciting and it kind of feels like the excitement you have got when you as a child are waiting for Christmas. I look so much forward every month to see what he choses. This time I think he did so well. I love the colour of the top and I like the pattern in the skirt. It's different that what I would wear, but that is what I love.

I just quickly wanted to share with you what my obsession with yellow has lead me to buy lately. It's almost as bad as my obsession with mint green, although not as bad.

The earrings and skater dress I have received already, but I can't wait till I get the polka dot dress. I have two other dresses from the same seller in similar shapes and they are great quality and fits so well. Mike bought me the polka dot one as I told him I didn't have enough dresses as it is. I'm a lucky girl! :)

Enough of my yellow obsession until I start reviewing everything. :)

Yellow is the lightest primary colour similar to gold and can replace it. Yellow was the colour of Imperial China and means spiritual power and wisdom. The sun that all life derives its energy from the yellow. It brings us hope, it brings us life and it brings us joy and happiness. But yellow means also wait. Yellow is on the opposite side of the colour circle of purple. It's an eye catching and bold colour that is not for hiding in the crowd. If you wear yellow you want to be seen. A bit like red, but I think yellow is less common to wear than red, so you will get more attention. Yellow is also colour often found in nature and many insects are attracted to yellow. Sometimes yellow also means danger, or poison. We humans use yellow in our language, usually as a signal, such as in traffic lights. This means the color "hold" or "get ready".

When I was a child and I was drawing, I always had to have something yellow in my pictures. most often it was the sun, but it could be houses, clothing, cars and so on. I have always liked yellow, but not worn it much. Until now! I have become absolutely obsessed with yellow. Here is a one outfit where I'm wearing my new favourite colour.

I love this outfit. I wore it for work. It amazed me how well I could wear leather skirt in the office. It's a bit to the casual side, but I got away with it. I love this skirt! It's so versatile and the colour is stunning. It has become a skirt favourite of mine. I think the yellow and blue works so well together and it automatically screams spring/summer despite wearing the more heavy leather skirt.

Last weekend Mike and I went for a little drive to lovely Chiswick. It's only 35 mins drive from here so not too far for a great meal.




I had been asked by the restaurant to do a review for them and as Mike's favourite food is Indian I said yes straight away.

Anarkali restaurant is located in the centre of Chiswick, South West London serving traditional Indian/Bangladeshi food. We found it very easy to get to and there was lots of street parking near by.

We were welcomed by the door and taken to our table. The restaurant was spacious, airy and nicely decorated, with a large fish tank in the middle. I liked it that we didn't have to sit on top of the other guests at the restaurant as you are given enough space between the tables.






We didn't have to wait long before we got our drinks and popadoms which was served with
6 different condiments. All of them were lovely. My favourite was the yogurt and mint, although I liked the coriander and mint a lot too.

For starter I chose vegetable samosas with chana masala and Mike chose spicy prawns. We got handed a different menu to the one online, so you won't find all the dishes we had there.



My vegetable samosas were delicious. I'm not exaggerating when I say that they were the best samosas I've ever had. They were nicely presented with a chickpea salad and it was a taste sensation.



Mike's prawns were delicious too. They came with a spicy dip and the prawns themselves were covered in a spicy cashew nut coating. All in all a very satisfying starter.

I had lemonade to drink and Mike had Cobra beer which Mike managed to spill all over the table cloth, floor and a bit on himself. The staff handled this very well and rushed off to find something to dry Mike with and replaced the table cloth. Talk about testing the staff out Mike!!! They also gave him a new beer as Mike's generosity to the floor had left him with next to nothing to drink.

We had to wait a little while for our main course, but it didn't bother us much as we had a great time chatting and taking photos of Mike's new best friend. The bright yellow fish that came swimming over to him every time he turned his head towards the fish tank. As you can see from the photos they connected.



I had chosen my favourite Indian dish for my main course, vegetarian biriyani. I love it, but I always ask for tarka daal instead of the vegetable curry that normally accompanies it, as I LOVE tarka daal. I was so surprised when I saw how they presented the biriyani as it had a lid of pastry on top of the dish it came in. I had never seen that before, but was very intrigued. When I tried my food it also tasted different than other biriyani's I've had. I thought I liked biriyani before? This one I loved. It was so light and the flavours were amazing. Delicious. Portions were big, too big for me, but it's better to get too much than too little.



Mike had hariyalli chicken. It was pieces of chicken in a medium spicy sauce made of spinach, green chilies and coriander. It was served with pilau rice. Mike picked this dish as it was something he had never tried before and it was different than what he normally goes for when he has indian food. He loves hot curries and by HOT I mean hot. The flavours worked very well together. He enjoyed it very much and the rice was cooked to perfection.




We didn't have any dessert so I can't comment on these.

The staff were very attentive and helpful. They made us feel very special and welcome. It was quite busy, but the atmosphere was great. It wasn't one of those restaurants where you have to shout to make yourself heard. We also met the chef who came to thank us for the visit. We thanked him for the great food and for having us.

The prices are very reasonable, normally we would expect to pay more for such high quality food.

If you are in the area or don't mind the short travel from central London and you want a fantastic Indian/Bangladeshi meal then I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I would give it a 9/10. The only problem I had was that the menu online doesn't match the menu at the restaurant.

Thanks for having us, we will definitely be back cause when Mike's tasted a good curry like this he would want to come back and try his favourite hot curries too.
