With Mother's Day quickly approaching and a lot of you probably have something planned to do with your mothers or mother figures in your life. My mum sadly passed away 5 years ago now, but being a mum myself and also having a lovely mother in law I still celebrate Mother's Day every year.

When Curvissa contacted me to ask me if I wanted to take part in a 1 jacket 3 ways challenge together with the lovely Zoë from http://www.mammafulzo.com/ I said yes straight away. Cause what better opportunity would I get to take my mother in law out for a pre-mother's day surprise?

The jacket they wanted me to style is this lovely Pattern Stretch Jacket* in a stunning sky blue colour.

Pattern Stretch Jacket*

It just looked so soft and delicate and a great go to blazer for the spring and summer. When I received it, it was just as soft as I thought it would be with this beautiful pattern woven into it. And the colour! It's just stunning, and so versatile as it will go with most things.

I have tried to make three different looks using both seperates and a dress to mix it up a bit.

Cream Tea

The first look look I did was this dark and edgy leather and studs vs soft textures kind of look when I took my mother in law out for cream tea.

My mother in law is a petite lady, but this photo is rather misleading. She is not THAT little ;)

For this look I wanted to create a contrast of the delicate in the jacket and the more edgy in the PU skirt and I think it worked. I felt very elegant and I got quite a few compliments for this look. I'm wearing the jacket with just a old top that I have bought in Spain, an old skirt from Asos, tights and handbag from New Look, shoes from Barrats, necklace from Primark, bracelet from Evans and ring is my own design.

The second look I wanted to go more girly so I chose to team it with a super cute 50s style dress from Torrid that I bought of another blogger Kerry.

Evening Dinner Look


 



It's a bit more ladylike outfit and it makes me feel extra feminine. My dress is as mentioned from Torrid, the handbag and necklace are both vintage, flower in my hair is from Accessorize and shoes are last seasons peep toes from Evans.

The last look I did was a more casual, going for a walk in the park kind of outfit.

Walk In The Park




I went for a walk along the river in this outfit and I felt really good. Nice and cosy as well as I layered the jacket with a polo neck jumper from the plus size range at Dorothy Perkins, jeans and ankle boots from New Look and handbag from a street market in Brussels.

These are the looks I created. I love the first look the most, but this jacket is such a lovely jacket that easily makes a casual outfit more dressy. I'm wearing a size 26 as I always size up in jackets due to my large bust. It's a good fit and the jacket is nice and stretchy. It's medium thick so it will be a perfect go to jacket for the spring. It's also one of those jackets that you can just throw on if you're going to the shop or if you're going to the cafe with the girls.
