My Plus North In Photos

Hello everyone.

As many of you know I wasn't myself at Plus North and I found the whole a bit overwhelming. It was good fun, but I was feeling so poorly that I had to return earlier than planned. I had a lovely time and my roomies Sam and Abi were the best roommates I could have asked for.

I thought I was going to share my experience from Plus North in photos so hope you enjoy.

Me and the beautiful Michaela.

All of you made my day special and I'm glad to know so many lovely people. I can't believe how much that has happened in a year. I love you all and can't wait to meet you again.

A Flowery Autumn.

It's still quite warm out there, but the summer is gone and it's time to start thinking of finding warmer clothes. There are some clothes that are very summer, then you have some that you can wear throughout the whole year. This dress is one of those.

It's from Topsy Curvy and I modelled it at Style XL and I felt like a princess. The dress is a perfect fit for my shape and the lovely scuba material is so great for hiding lumps and bumps. The length is great. Since it's a bit cooler in the air I chose to use it wiht 3/4 length leggings, but in the summer I wore the dress with nothing under.

Without a doubt the best feature of this dress is the bright and bold print. I love it. I never used to be too keen on florals, but lately I have fallen in love with floral print as it is so feminine. I think this dress is perfect as a dress in the cooler season as well as it is a bit darker than a normal summer dress.

I love my cropped denim jacket and it goes so well with everything I wear. I love how it makes my outfit look a bit more edgy and less girlie than if I wore a cardigan with it.

Boobies :D

Dress from Topsy Curvy (HERE)
Jacket from Very (Old)
Leggings from New Look (Old)
Shoes from George at Asda (Old)
Necklace (Old from a street market)
Bracelet from Goulter-Bennett (HERE)
Handbag from Asos (Old)

I love wearing colourful and bright patterns in the winter. When it is darker out and colder I think that colourful outfits can brighten a gloomy day. It's an instant boost to your mood so if you need a little extra in your cold day, wear some bright colours.

Do you wear florals in the colder seasons?

Do You Wear Maxi Dresses In Autumn?

I have lots of different maxi dresses in my wardrobe and I don't want to pack them away even it is getting colder outside. So far we have been really lucky with the temperatures so far in the autumn as it's been as warm as a summers day. That mean that I can just use my maxi's as I normally would do.

This lovely maxi dress I had been lusting over ever since I saw in the SS14 viewings from Marisota. I love the colours. The block colours in the skirt especially. I have used this dress just once as for me it was too short as I like my maxis to be floor length. And that a maxi dress is too short for me is hard to find cause at 5'6 it's rather the opposite! But that made me think that since winter is coming I could wear it with army boots and wool socks and a warm jacket. That way it doesn't matter if it is a bit short. Cause the colours of the dress would go in the winter as well. I even like wearing pastels in the winter, so I'm really just talking non sense here :)

In these photos I've teamed the dress with a lovely blazer from The Curve since it is still not that cold. In winter I would wear it with a jacket or a parka to make the outfit more casual.

This jacket is so far my favourite to buy this season is from Asos. It can be bought here.

This jacket would help me bring my block colour maxi into a lovely winter dress.

To finish the style I would go for

These amazing boots are from Dr Martens and can be found HERE.

I like the challenge of bringing summer clothes into the autumn and winter as it means that I can wear my favourites all year long.

Do you wear maxi's in the winter?

Lady Vintage London's Dress Miracle.

It's been a while since I wore this outfit, but since I'm poorly I haven't been able to take any new photos at the moment. And that doesn't matter when I have photos of beautiful outfits like these laying around just waiting to be posted.

I'm wearing my lovely Estella dress from Lady V London. I was choosing a dress for a wedding and this is the dress I chose. I love mint green and the print and the design of this dress just ticked all the boxes for me. It's so stunning!!

These dresses were designed by the beautiful Georgina from Fuller Figure Fuller Bust and she said that she wanted to design a dress with a cross over bust, decent waist panel and flared skirt. A dress that allowed for meatier arms and came in lots of gorgeous prints. And she has really succeeded!! I absolutely love everything about this dress. It's flattering, it's beautiful, the print and colour is stunning and it's so beautifully crafted.

I wore this dress to my nieces wedding in August and I felt like a princess. It was at least 30 women that came over to me and said how beautiful I looked and asked where I had bought the dress. I think that apart from the bride I was the one that got most compliments ;)

I wanted to go for the whole 50s style as it is such a flattering style for us curvier girls. I'm wearing a white petticoat under to show the skirt in its full glory. It makes me kind of feel like I'm floating about the floor when I walk :)
I'm wearing pearls and white accessories to not steal anything from the dress. This dress is a showstopper and I wanted to fully get the focus on it as it deserves it so much.

The Estella dress is sold out on Lady V London's website and I can understand why as it is the most beautiful dress I've ever worn.

Update

Lady V London has got in some new Estella dresses which you can find here.

I'm wearing

Dress Lady V London(sold out)
Handbag (Ebay)
Necklace (Street market)
Bracelet (Azendi, HERE)
Shoes Shoe Zone (Old)
Hair Flower Claire's (Old)

Did you manage to snap up one of these dresses? What pattern did you choose?

I Feel Misunderstood- A Story About Invisable Illnesses

Today starts the Balance Awareness Week so therefore I wanted to use my blog to something a bit more serious than fashion. This will be a post filled with thoughts and anger about something that it's difficult for some people to understand. Invisible illnesses. Since so many people I meet in my life seem to have little knowledge about this (yes, that is me saying in a kind way that some people are so ignorant and rude about something they can't see), I thought I would clear a few things up, because being on the receiving end of ignorance is rarely fun!

The last year has been a long fight health wise for me. Or more than the last year, as I was diagnosed with Menieres disease in 2012. This illness has made my life so much harder in more than one way. I have reduced hearing on my left ear so I have to wear a hearing aid. I also have a horrible high pitch sound in my ear day out and day in, better know as Tinnitus. But the worst part of this illness is that I get attacks from time to time that makes me dizzy(Vertigo) and nauseas. It can be easier described as the feeling of being constantly seasick while an attack lasts. An attack can last from a few minutes to days and it can come whenever. This makes it very distressing and unpredictable. It leaves me with anxiety for falling, especially in public places(such as if I take a train or a tube I get scared about falling onto the track). So I don't like being on my own anymore. I can't drive, it affects my work as I either have to take sick days and/or gives me concentration problems at work.
The last year my health has become radically worse. A year ago I started fainting for no reason, feeling numb, having a real difficulty with my concentration and after a year of tests, scans and consultations I'm not much wiser to why I'm feeling like I am. Doctors has talked about that it might be young onset of Parkinson's due to a lot of different factors and also heritage as my mum and grandmother had it. Still doing tests for this so I will leave that for now. I try to stay positive till they know any more, but that is not easy for someone who struggle with depression and anxiety.

I've been struggling with anxiety and depression since I was a teenager and have been trying all kind of treatment for it. Medication, counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy(CBT) or psychotherapyIn addition to this I have been diagnosed for two different personality disorders

Mental problems are more than just being scared sometimes or feeling low sometimes. I can't just pull myself together. Don't you think I have tried to overcome my fears? Do you think I want to feel like this? And don't say that "it's all about how you think." Everyone that knows me well know I'm very positive and enthusiastic. I try to surround myself with positivity, positive people and I'm always aware of living life to the fullest despite my illnesses. I can't stand people with negative attitudes that think that they have a right to judge me because I'm not having a visible illness. Would it have been easier for YOU to respect me and see my pain if I had some illness YOU could see? Would it have been easier to not ask stupid questions like "Why don't you go to the shop, when you can go on the train to London?" or "why don't you just try and think differently, focus on the positives in your life?" I've heard it all,"it's just attention seeking", "it's always a drama with me", "it can't be that bad" cause I'm is doing other things and so on. Don't you think I try to conquer my fears? I work with myself and my inner fears every day. Every second of the day. It never stops. It's always there with me. I work on it for my own sake, so I can be happy.

I have thought a lot about how my life would have been if I had never been sick , if I had never been bullied, lost my parents at a young age, been in an abusive relationship at a young age etc. . I thought it was so incredibly unfair that I had been given this life. But with time, my thinking around this changed. Everything I have experienced has made me who I am today. Yes, everything! I have grown because of it. It has made me stronger, and it has made me think more positively. I really do appreciate the little things . It may sound like a cliché, but it's so so true. The experiences has cost me so much. It has been incredibly hard, yet I would not trade places with anyone else. I would not trade my experiences and knowledge and strength it has given me. It 's easy to be bitter when you end up in this situation , but I have tried to turn it around. I now look at my history of illness as a resource. And it's positive! I know many people you meet in life, such as employers, can look at psychiatric problems as a negative thing, but it isn't. Without my past I don't think I would be who I am today - strong, hard working, wise, kind, deep, empathetic and caring.

I do feel misunderstood of a few people. I know I'm different. I know I'm a bit of an outsider. I don't watch trashy TV or read trashy magazines, I value learning instead and find great joy and relaxation in this. I do like studying and learning. It doesn't make me a bad person for that reason does it? It doesn't mean that I'm boring and dull even if I can't participate in the everyday chit chat about who was evicted in X-factor or Big Brother. I know I'm extremely sensitive to bad comments and abrupt comments, but that is because I hate evilness and conflicts. Yes, we are different, but that goes both ways! I get easily excited and want to share my good news or the opportunities life gives me with everyone that I know. That doesn't mean that it is me bragging. I'm not a bragging person, but more than once I've been left feeling like I've been given something I don't deserve. It's just that I get so happy and want to share my happiness with people. People are difficult to understand sometimes as jealousy is a strong power in many of us. Thinking "why can't I get the same opportunities as she does?" is probably natural, but it is not like things are being given to me for free. I do work hard to get where I am today, maybe even harder than you think due to my physical and mental disability. Cause yes, it is a disability even if it can't be seen.

Getting To Know- Lisa Mosh

It has been a while since I did this post so it is about time I get it out.

This month I have interviewed one of my favourite style bloggers. The lovely Lisa Mosh.

Hope you enjoy the interview with her.

Name -  Lisa
Living  - Cologne, Germany
Age - 26

How long have you been blogging?

Actually since one year now. I have started in August 2013.

How did you get into blogging?

Well, at first I have to say that blogs gave me some kind of fashion confidence. They helped me to try out new stuff. This was like 4 years ago. Before that I just wore lame jeans and ugly cardigans and didn't have any idea of fashion. Then two years later I changed my whole wardrobe and my selfconfidence and wanted to show other plus girls that they can wear what the hell they want! So here I am now :)

How much time do you spend on blogging?

Oh that depends alot on my studys for college. Sometimes I spend alot time at my Laptop or outside taking pictures for my blog with my boyfriend, but sometimes I don't. It just depends ...  I guess at least 5 hours a week.

Where would you like to take your blog?

It has already became bigger than I thought, I couldn't wish for more!

How would you describe your style?

One simple word - Trendy!

Who or what is your fashion inspiration?

I get my inspiration from Instagram, other Blogs and magazines. It's always my personal challenge to style the trends I see in my style.

How is your wardrobe?

Colourfull and individual :)

What are you like? The bargain hunter or are you quality over quantity?

It is a mix of both. I am a blogger AND a student so I really can't afford every quality to any price, but every woman needs some special quality pieces. Like the perfect black dress or an awesome jeans. A fabulous jacket. and those pieces are all time faves, so I spend more on that, but some 6 months fashion trend stuff? Then I am def a bargain hunter!

Do you blog about anything else than fashion?

- Sometimes I tell my readers a bit of my personal life, like what is going on lately and what I got on my mind, but yeah... it is mostly about fashion.

What is a must have item for the summer?

The right sandals! Srly girls, they are so important. When I buy the wrong shoes my feet tell me within an hour. So spend some money in good quality shoes.
But it is August now, fall is coming. My must have item for fall is knit! Get an awesome knit cardigan in any colors!

Favourite online and high street shop?

asos, navabi, dorothy perkins, net-a-porter, videdressing

Tell me about your best bargain

Zara Leather Boots! I shopped them 2 weeks ago and wanted to have them since beginning of winter, but they were too expensive for me with 99€. I went to Zara, because they got sale right now and I saw them, grabbed them and got them for only 24€. I am so lucky. You can see them on my leo cardigan outfit post.

bye bye

I love Lisa's style. It's very trendy and elegant. What I like best about her is her amazing ability to have the best accessories out there at any time.

Isn't she just beautiful?

Are You A Silver Or Gold Person?*

Do you like Silver? Or do you prefer gold? Or maybe none, or both? I prefer silver. I've always loved silver and I remember growing up my dad used to take me with him to go this cross coutry skiing race in Sweden. In this town that the race was held it had used to be silver mines cause the race was called The Silver Race. I was probably about 8 the first time I went. My dad was a great skier and I remember he winning a gold medal. I got really upset when he got the medal cause I thought the silver medal was so much nicer.

I think that is what started my love for silver.

I'm not just saying this randomly to share some childhood memories, but a few weeks back I was asked by this lovely Company called Azendi who specialises in silver jewellery if I wanted to review one of the products. I was like a child in a candy shop as they have got such a great choice of affordable jewellery. Azendi is a luxurious, romantic and quintessential English jewellery company.

I chose a pearl and silver bracelet as I was going to a wedding and was going to wear a vintage look dress so I thought it would match  my style really nicely.

The service was really good and it was very speedy delivery. I got the box and it was really beautifully wrapped and presented. It felt very special indeed opening the packet.

The bracelet itself is a triple strand white pearl with beautiful silver spacer beads in between.

Isn't it pretty? I adore it. It's classy and elegant and is a timeless piece of jewellery that you can wear with most outfits. I love the quirkiness of each pearl. I also love the sparkly  little silver balls in between the pearls. It breaks the soft of the pearl up a bit to make it more interesting.

Delicate and beautiful.

You can buy the bracelet HERE.

Azendi's collection is so beautiful and they don't only have silver. If you're a fan of gold or rose gold there are plenty to chose from.

Here are some of my other favourites from the collection.

Isn't this just the most adorable ever? I have a thing for Scotty dogs. :)

So what kind of jewellery do you prefer? Big and bold or small and neutral?
